Javier Lesaca

Javier Lesaca (Pamplona, 1981) is a consultant and visiting researcher at George Washington University, where he studies public opinion manipulation and its implications for government, security, and development. Since 2014, he has supplemented his professional activity with research into the public opinion strategies of extremist groups. He studied journalism at the University of Navarra, where he has worked as an associate professor, and has a Master’s in Arabic Studies from Georgetown University, where he was a Fulbright scholar. He forms part of the UN expert working group opposing extremism, and has collaborated with such organizations as the UN Security Council and UNESCO’s Euro-Arab Dialogue Initiative. His work has appeared in the New York Times, CNN, Der Spiegel, and other outlets, and has been presented at the United States Congress.
