Joaquín M. Fuster (Barcelona, 1930), MD, is Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Brain Research Institute and the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at the University of California, Los Angeles. A pioneer in the neurophysiology of cognition by discovering memory cells in the primate brain, he is the author of numerous scientific articles. His books include Memory in the Cerebral Cortex, Cortex and Mind and The Prefrontal Cortex. With Ariel, he has published Cerebro y libertad.
