Redefining the concept of private property by creating a space free of state sovereignty
Today’s states and their currencies are entrenched in a profound crisis, urging us to reassess our political and economic belief systems. Essentially, this boils down to two core ideas: that money must be supported by a central authority, and that the concept of the state can be applied to any political community. Philosopher Álvaro D. María argues that envisioning political structures beyond the traditional state is indeed feasible. Bitcoin, by ensuring absolute rights to private ownership and establishing a realm free of state control, challenges conventional norms. According to María, the traditional state model is becoming obsolete and “cryptocratic” activities are the only way to fight it because its attacks will remain hidden and anonymous beyond the reach of power. In this context, cyberspace emerges as the optimal arena for such confrontations, with Bitcoin as its most effective tool.
